ATCC's "New and Improved" Tennis Academy

Playing tennis with the right size racquet, ball and court size will make it easier for your child to enjoy success. Proper equipment creates the opportunity for each player to develop their skills in a productive and progressive way. Our pros will be focused advancing them through our developmental pipeline: Red Ball to Orange Ball, Orange Ball to Green Ball, and Green Ball to a Regular Ball. With this growth mindset and a readiness to progress, your child will acquire great technical, physical, tactical and mental skills along the way.

At the end of every session, our Pros will fill out a “Developmental Report” for each of our Academy players. This report will provide a clear snapshot of their ability, what ball they should be using, as well as, what’s needed to graduate to the next ball.

  • Red Ball
    • Red Ball players will focus basic fundamentals. They will learn on a smaller court to allow them the chance to be more successful at hitting the ball and covering the court.

  • Orange Ball
    • Orange Ball players play on a court that is wider than a Red Ball court but is still smaller than a regulation court. The ball also bounces a little higher, which allows them to develop a more rounded game. They will learn a range of techniques and tactics such as advanced stroke technique, footwork, court strategy and the ability to keep score.

  • Green Ball
    • Green Ball players play on a full-size court with a ball that is a little softer than a Regular Ball. Players at this level will work on improving their grips, ball control and shot selection. They are developing strong groundstrokes, volleys, overheads and service techniques, as well as improving their court strategy.

  • Regular Ball
    • Regular Ball players play on a full-sized court and should be able to use all five controls - height, width, depth, spin and pace – to expose their opponent’s weaknesses.
